Cookie Policy
Transparent disclosure of the essential session tokens, authentication identifiers, and user preference controls active across the Website Health Monitor platform.
Notice to Users: This document governs the terms, policies, and privacy protocols of Stillpoint. Identifiers surrounded by brackets (such as [LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME]) designate operational configuration placeholders subject to formal registration or legal verification.
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Stillpoint (“Platform”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), operated by •[LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME], uses cookies, local storage, and related browser storage technologies across our website and dashboard.
We believe in strict data minimization. By default, Stillpoint utilizes only strictly necessary cookies and browser storage required to authenticate your account session, protect against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF), and persist your operational interface preferences.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text data files transferred to and stored upon your computer, mobile device, or tablet by web servers when you access an online platform. Cookies allow web applications to recognize your browser, retain authenticated sessions across navigation, and remember user-configured preferences.
In addition to traditional HTTP cookies, modern web applications utilize HTML5 Local Storage and Session Storage to store lightweight client-side settings securely.
3. Why We Use Cookies
We deploy cookies and local storage tokens for strictly defined operational purposes:
Authentication & Security: Validating your identity, preventing account hijacking, and protecting form submissions against CSRF exploits.
Session State: Ensuring you remain logged into your active workspace as you navigate between uptime metrics, monitors, and billing tools.
Interface Preferences: Retaining your selected timezone, dashboard layout, and navigation preferences.
Consent State: Storing your cookie banner choices so you are not prompted repeatedly on each visit.
4. Essential Cookies
Strictly Necessary cookies are critical for the website to function. Without these cookies, authenticated workspace features, security validation, and billing checkouts cannot be provided.

5. Authentication Cookies
When you log in to Stillpoint, our authentication service issues a short-lived JSON Web Token (JWT) access token paired with a rotating refresh token. This dual-token architecture minimizes session hijacking risks while preventing premature session terminations during long monitoring diagnostic sessions.
When you sign out of your account, these authentication tokens are immediately revoked and cleared from browser storage.
6. Preference Cookies
Preference cookies and local storage keys preserve your custom workspace view configurations, including:
Default Timezone: Rendering uptime timestamps in your local regional timezone rather than default UTC.
Collapsed Navigation State: Remembering whether the desktop navigation sidebar is expanded or collapsed.
Active Monitor Filter: Preserving active dashboard filters (such as viewing only “Degraded” monitors).
7. Analytics and Telemetry Cookies
Accurate Statement Regarding Analytics Tracking
Stillpoint does not use invasive third-party cross-site advertising trackers (such as Facebook Pixel or third-party ad retargeting cookies).
Any internal operational analytics we capture are strictly aggregate performance measurements (such as page-load latency, API error rates, and probe response times) designed to diagnose infrastructure bottlenecks. If optional first-party performance telemetry is activated, it operates only after you provide explicit consent through our preference banner.
8. Third-Party Cookies
When completing paid subscription transactions on our platform, our authorized payment gateway partners (such as Razorpay or Stripe) may set necessary fraud-detection cookies to protect against stolen credit cards and automated chargeback abuse. These cookies are governed by the privacy policies of the respective payment processors.
9. Cookie Lifespans and Storage Types
Cookies deployed on our platform belong to two lifespan categories:
Session Cookies: Temporary cookies that expire automatically as soon as you close your web browser.
Persistent Cookies: Cookies that remain on your device for a predetermined period (such as 7 days for session refresh tokens or 1 year for consent state) or until manually purged through browser settings.
10. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You have full control over non-essential cookies. You can adjust your consent choices at any time directly using our interactive Cookie Settings Modal:
Changing your preferences takes effect immediately without requiring a page reload.
11. Browser Cookie Controls
Most contemporary web browsers enable you to inspect, manage, and delete cookies through their settings menus. For step-by-step instructions, consult the official support documentation for your browser:
If you configure your web browser to block all cookies indiscriminately, you will be unable to log into your Stillpoint account or manage active synthetic monitors.
12. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in our technology stack or legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted here with an updated “Last Updated” date.
